Wie zijn wij?

Renate (she/her)

Co-owner

I’m a ceramic artist and founder of Claytuesday, where I design and create handmade ceramics. My work reflects an authentic exploration of materials, shapes, and balance, primarily focusing on tableware crafted on the potter’s wheel, along with some hand-built pieces

I studied at the Dutch Ceramics School in Gouda. And started ClayGym,  where I share my love for ceramics and teach others to work with clay.

Sarah (she/her)

teacher/handbuilder

I am a sculptor and ceramic artist specializing in large-scale ceramics and handbuilding. I studied at both the HKU and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, and I’ve been working with ceramics for over six years.

My work is conceptual and often explores the relationship between humans and animals, as well as structures in society. In addition to my artistic practice, I have a broad knowledge of glazes.

You can come to meet me at the ClayGym, where I can help you bring your ideas to life, whether through handbuilding techniques or on the wheel.

Marco (he/him)

intern/handbuilder

With my ceramic sculptures, I give shape to my inner world. The intricate details of the sculptures invite viewers to lose themselves in the imagery, allowing them not only to look, but also to experience. My work moves between fantasy and science; I draw inspiration from natural forms and combine these influences with my imagination. The result is sculptures and installations that evoke a layered world of their own.

Kaat (she/her)

teacher/thrower and handbuilder

With a background as a coach and a creative mind that never stands still, I find peace, focus, and joy in clay. I love the surprises that clay brings—it’s never completely predictable, and that’s precisely what makes it so enjoyable.
My classes aren’t just about technique, but above all about enjoying the process, providing space to explore and appreciate what clay brings. Clay continues to surprise and challenge. What began as curiosity has grown into a true passion—and I’d love to share that with you.

Farid (he/him)

Co-owner

As a co-owner, I combine my passion for ceramics with my background in entrepreneurship. I focus on the business side of this studio, allowing our creative team to fully dedicate themselves to art and craftsmanship.

I find it important that people from all cultures feel welcome, and my goal is to foster an inspiring, inclusive, and sustainable environment where ceramics and creativity can thrive.

Emil (they/them)

teacher/thrower

I am a ceramicist and clay enthusiast with a background in graphic design. My love for nature and illustration results in work that is mostly inspired by flora and fauna. Besides working on the pottery wheel, I am skilled in other areas, such as handbuilding, working with sgraffito and different glazing techniques.

I believe the best learning happens when students feel free to discover their own style and develop their personal artistic approach. During my classes and workshops it is important for me to make my students feel seen, support them in their current creative process where needed and most importantly: have fun while doing it!

Latisha (she/her)

teacher/thrower

My goal during the kidspartys is to create a space where children can be themselves, relax, and learn through play. The ability to inspire and guide children through art is a source of joy for me. I love helping them use their own hands to create something unique or handcrafted, but above all, to experience the joy of making.
